Battle of the Boards was a collaborative weekend challenge we ran during my time as department chair at SCAD. Students would get a brief and take a concept to pitch between Friday night and Sunday afternoon. The pitch books were sent to industry judges all over the country - helping to keep our work visible and in the minds of key industry decision makers.
These sessions developed studio collaboration skills and the ability to work collaboratively to a deadline. The effective integration of type and image, palette and contextual design were key aspects of the work. The boards here include main title designs for the film DRIVE, show package pitches for SHOWTIME networks and creative pitches for ADOBE.
