One of the innovative things I was able to do as Chair of Motion Media Design at SCAD was to change the department's “Inspire” program from a half day set of talks from some industry designers...... where they played their showreel and told “war stories”.... into a staged series of weekend design workshops overseen by visiting professionals and faculty in a collaborative studio setting.

In this workshop, which ran for a Friday and Saturday - Erin Sarofsky - owner and creative director of Sarofsky Inc. in Chicago and one of the leading title designers in the country came for the weekend to mentor the teams. She gave students a choice of briefs that were given to her and for which she herself was not successful in the pitch....
